Ethics and
Art of Riding
A critical examination of the challenges of human-horse interaction is the least we can do to do justice to the species we face as riders. Horses bring us into contact with our emotions and thus have an invaluable place in our culture today, as they did in the time of our ancestors. A conscious approach to a horse is made easier for humans when they are given guidelines to follow. As such ethical guidelines, the thoughts of Katrine Buur serve as a compass in the Academic Art of Riding:
Talk to us!
We, especially the board of the association and the council of elders, want to be a concrete support for you, our members. Particularly when you are confronted with violations of the animal welfare and ethical principles mentioned in the statutes, we, as an association with our member community, want to offer support and an open and respectful communication culture. We are here for each other! Talk to us, write to us, contact us. We will try to stand by you with an open ear and advice.
We also expect to establish an "Ethics" working group soon.
